To those who have waited so long for this day to arrive , I know how you feel . Been there done that . Haha .. Anyways this is just a short post to wish all my friends and acquaintances who have taken their SPM papers last year and are finally receiving their results tomorrow ALL THE BEST and may lady luck smile upon you guys . Also a special shout out to my cousin sis Chan Yun in Penang . Hope that you will pass with flying colours ( which I know you will =p ) and your results will all be the 1st letter of the alphabet .. =p

1st things 1st , I was only there as a part of d audience . Haha.. This little trip was organized by my uni . I have no idea why my name came out on the list but I was glad to have a chance to escape from UPNM for a while . So I just took it . Haha .. The event was held on 5th of March 2010 ; which is a Friday at Putrajaya International Convention Centre . At 1st I thought that this is just another normal and boring public speaking . But I was totally wrong . A total of 53 contestants from 51 countries took part in this event . Out of those , we got to see 8 finalist perform : 3 from the Nusantara Category ( Contestants which come from countries within d Malay Archipelago ) and 5 from the International Category ..

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2010 / THE BIG 20

Gonna make this a 2-in-1 post as my 20th birthday coincides with the 4th day of Chinese New Year 2010 as well as our Steamboat gathering at Ang’s house . This Chinese New Year , I got a whole week off !! Woots !!! And I really enjoyed this holiday . The day before the 1st day of CNY my family and I had our usual prayers in the morning and ” Reunion Lunch ” . Then in the evening , we would normally go to our grandma’s house in Ayer Tawar but this year , we invited her to come over instead as we are having steamboat . Not a grand but rather a small one ..

1st Day
1st day of CNY is of course morning prayers as usual . Then we went to my uncle’s ( dad’s elder bro’s ) house to “pai nian” and went to my grandma’s house after wards . Had our lunch there and went to my grandaunt’s house ( mum’s aunt , paternal side ) which is also in Ayer Tawar on the way back . She was the one who took care of my mum during her childhood days so my mum has a very special bond with her ..

2nd Day
Woke up early in the morning to prepare for our journey to Pangkor . The reason being we don’t want to get caught in the jam to embark on the ferry there . Reached Lumut Jetty around 8 am . While waiting for my dad to get a parking lot I snapped some photos to kill some time ..

3rd Day
Breakfast at Pangkor is always something I look forward to . Had a bowl of ” Qing Tang Mien ” ( Mee Sup ) . But then I had a sudden craving for the ” Chee Cheong Fun ” so I went all the way to Sg Pinang Kechil just to get 1 packet of it . Haha..Then met up with Pei Fan after lunch and headed back to Sitiawan..

The Rush At The Jetty . And It Happened Right After My Family And I Got On It . Haha..
Reached Sitiawan around 5 or so and the whole family rested for the rest of the day , except for me . Haha.. Went out for the movies that night with Kit Kei , Xin Yi , Ee Lynn and her bro..Well , the initial plan was to watch “Percy Jackson and The Lighting Thief” at 9.30 ..But due to some unexpected turn out of events , we ended up watching the 11.45 screening instead . Haha..This time it is seriously NOT me whose late . Some little lady ( Xin Yi ) took way too long to prepare . Haha..I still can’t forget the incident at her house when I went to fetch her . Only a few of us close friend knew what happened . Haha ..
4th Day
17th of February which is also MY 2oth BIRTHDAY !!!!! =p Haha .. So this is gonna be the Big 20 part . Hehe.. My dad bought me a Casio Edifice watch as a present .Thanks Dad !! =p

Well , didn’t go anywhere for the day except to Econsave and The Store to buy some stuffs for the steamboat at Ang’s house at night as I have to help my dad put up the bamboo curtain on the empty space between the walls separating our house and the neighbour’s . After dinner time ( NOT dinner ) , went to fetch Kit Kei and headed to Ang’s place ( except that we made a pit-stop at Wonderful Gift gift shop as she wanted to get a gift for her boyfriend . Haha.. XD Reached Ang’s place around 8 or so . Then helped them get prepared and it’s ” makan ” time . Hehe..

A lot of our friends are present on that night . We did a lot of catching up and it was fun . =p Then , while I was chatting with Mei King and Uncle Eng Seong ( Ang’s dad ) , they suddenly brought out 2 cakes and sang the birthday song . Well , it was my birthday that day and Kah Wai ’s the next . they did wish me but I never thought that they would actually buy a cake to celebrate it . I am really touched guys , since I seldom celebrate my birthday .. . Thanks .. But there is a catch to it . me and Kah Wai need to take the candle out of the cake by biting it . Haha .. 5th Day
As usual , nothing much during the day but my dad organized a mini barbecue gathering at my house that night . Most of my friends from yesterday came and we had a good time as well . The only thing that slacks is that I didn’t take any photos and I took out the expensive liquors too soon . No one even touch the beers as they were busy drinking the Chivas Regal and Dry Gin . Haha..
Nothing much for the following days except outings with friends and things like that . Dad left for Abu Dhabi on the 7th day . We sent him off at the Shuttle Bus stop near Pizza Hut . Hope that everything goes well for him over there .. =p As for me , I went back to KL on the 8th day of CNY . Sunday morning 8.30 am bus . Gonna miss home , my family and my friends . Haiz.. Anyways , I know CNY is already over but hopefully it’s not too late to wish everyone HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !!!!! =P

UPNM ENGLISH WEEK PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION..

I took part in this public speaking competition themed ” Duty , Honour , Integrity ” ( Our University’s motto ) . It was organized by the Center for Liberal and Language Studies of my university , UPNM . The competition is one of the programs from the list which includes French poem recital , Japanese sketch , and Chinese calligraphy exhibition . Well , I am proud to say that I emerged champion from all the 20 odd students who took part . When I was told by my lecturer that I won the competition , I was head over heels . But then there ‘ s a catch . I kinda like to put it this way . With the good news , there ‘ s always the bad news . The good news is : I won the public speaking competition . The bad news ? I have to perform another round of my ‘ show ‘ in front of the Vice Chancellor during the closing ceremony on the 3rd of February . I was like ….. Speechless . I just won a small competition . A speech in front of the VC ? But then , I thought , it’s ok . At least I can show off a bit .. XD So come the faithful day , I was there early . So I sat and revised my script ( Which I totally did not work on before this . Haha.. ) while waiting for the guests to arrive ..

To my horror , all the head of departments , Deans , military officers and most senior lecturers are present . Even both the Deputy Vice Chancellors are present for the event . I was like ‘ Die la .. ‘ . After the all the time-wasting formalities , the performances started . First up was the Chinese calligraphy exhibition , English sketch , French poem recital , Arabic sketch , and finally me . I was feeling kinda nervous as I have to give a speech in front of so many important people . It’s unlike when I was the MC during assemblies in secondary school where I actually have a book in my hand to tel me what to say next . This time I am going on top of the stage EMPTY HANDED . Butterflies are flying wildly inside my stomach . But , I am already there . And realising I am the only solo performer there , I got up , pulled myself together , and said to myself ” I gotta make an impression today ” .
I walked up the stairs , adjusted the microphone , and .. ” Here it goes ” ..
” Vice Chancellor , National Defense University of Malaysia , Lt General ………. ”
My words are barely audible in the beginning and I swallowed my saliva hard down my throat plenty of times . But as my speech entered the starting part of the introduction , I am going quite smooth already . Guess I’ve just gained a tiny bit of confidence there . So I went on and on about my chosen topic “Integrity Among Malaysians” . And I guess I could say I ended with a ‘Bang!’ as when I raised my voice on my last sentence ” … Duty , Honour and Integrity ” , everyone in the hall clapped .. =p
After the Closing Ceremony was over , a few of us stood outside the doorway to send of the VIPs .. The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni , Prof Wan Mahsom came over to me , shook my hands and said ” You spoke well boy .” .. That short sentence really made my day . We chatted for a while till she had to leave . As I watched the VIPs went , I thought ” I’ve made a good impression of myself haven’t I ” =p

Chinese New Year holiday is going to be from 12th till 21st February .. Woots!!!!! Haha .. Yeah .. Gonna celebrate my birthday back home .. XD Woohoo .. All the effort and meetings are not wasted ( unlike last year .. XD ) .. A BIG BIG thanks to Major Chan Weng Poh RRR for helping us out in applying and bugging the other officers to give us the holiday .. XD YES !!!!! Xin Nian Lai Lo !!!!! =p

BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS

Just watched ” Bodyguards And Assassins ” yesterday ( although I watch the downloaded 1.. XD ) . Awesome movie !! Highly recommended . It is a courageous and touching story on how China ’s revolution began . A story where many lost their lives to protect Sun Yat-sen , the founding father of The Peoples’ Republic of China , on his visit to Hong Kong to discuss with fellow Tong Meng Hui members plans of revolution against the thousand – years – old monarchy system in China . In this story , it is mainly the corrupt Qing Dynasty . The story revolves around people from all walks of life . They sacrificed their lives in order for their fellow countrymen and the future generation of China to live in a democratic country . The one that I found most courageous and touching is Li Chongguang – the 17-year-old only son of businessman Li Yutang . He is a fervent supporter of the revolution and goes against his father’s will to do so . He was murdered by the assassin , Yan Xiaoguo , while acting as a decoy to divert the assassins away from Sun Yat-sen . His death could be avoided as Sun Yat-sen has already left Hong Kong at the moment he was murdered . He has a bright future buy sadly his life is sacrificed for a better tomorrow for China ..
Nevertheless this is a very interesting and touching story . A must watch for those who love action and meaningful movies ..

FREAKING SHORT CNY HOLIDAY..

Just got to know yesterday that my Chinese New Year Break will only be from 12th February till 16th February . Freaking short holiday for a major celebration like this man . When the officer announced it to us yesterday night I was like ” WTF!!!!! ” . Before it was announced I heard rumors that it will be from the 12th til the 20th . So I thought , ok la . Not too bad . But I’ll still try to push it till 21st ( Sunday ) . But now it’s really like ………. ( Speechless ) .
Damn it . I am so so so frustrated right now . I am gonna go all out to apply for a longer holiday than this . I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday doing stupid training ( again ) for nothing and miss out on all the extra Chinese New Year days . Extra Ang Pau’s , extra time with family and friends , extra days of freedom !! Goddamn it . I already have so many plans installed and so much to do this time around . Just fml ..
p/s – Please pray that I succeed in applying for the extra days of holiday ..

LKU SEASON 3

LKU ( Latihan Ketenteraan Umum or better known as Latihan Kepenatan Unggul by us ) was over around 3 weeks ago . This was the 3rd time I went through LKU throughout my studies here in UPNM . That’s why it is called season 3 . This time around , the training is kinda more relaxed than previous LKUs . 1st of all , the training period itself is shorter than the previous LKU Season 2 which is 4 weeks compared to 10 weeks . Well , for those who are still in the blue , LKU is the term for the military training that we go through every time we have end of semester break . Be it 1st or 2nd semester . We seldom have it during mid-sems as mid-sem breaks are normally too short to proceed with our training ( 1 week only ) . Even if there IS training , it’s only for 2 or 3 days only and can’t qualify as LKU . Hehe .. During each end-of-sem holiday , we will be given 1 week off ( only ) and training will start after that . The routine for this season are as follows : -
Monday – Thursday :
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT ( Physical Training ) which includes running , push-ups , sit-ups , jumping jacks ……. Training is accompanied with special equipments ie 7 kg backpacks , logs , “tong peluru” etc .. The equipments are alternated as we have to go through different training routines..
0830H – Military Knowledge class . Basically it includes military law , military administration , map reading , camouflage etc .. But we didn’t really learn much as we have already learned most of it during the last season..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Class continues ( again?haha..we change subjects ok? =p )
1600H – Class ends and rest..
1645H – Sports..
1900H – Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Friday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..
0830H – Military Knowledge class ..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..

In the end of the day , whether I am a loner or a group person , I guess i am just another face in the crowd .. =p

1st things 1st , I was only there as a part of d audience . Haha.. This little trip was organized by my uni . I have no idea why my name came out on the list but I was glad to have a chance to escape from UPNM for a while . So I just took it . Haha .. The event was held on 5th of March 2010 ; which is a Friday at Putrajaya International Convention Centre . At 1st I thought that this is just another normal and boring public speaking . But I was totally wrong . A total of 53 contestants from 51 countries took part in this event . Out of those , we got to see 8 finalist perform : 3 from the Nusantara Category ( Contestants which come from countries within d Malay Archipelago ) and 5 from the International Category ..

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2010 / THE BIG 20

Gonna make this a 2-in-1 post as my 20th birthday coincides with the 4th day of Chinese New Year 2010 as well as our Steamboat gathering at Ang’s house . This Chinese New Year , I got a whole week off !! Woots !!! And I really enjoyed this holiday . The day before the 1st day of CNY my family and I had our usual prayers in the morning and ” Reunion Lunch ” . Then in the evening , we would normally go to our grandma’s house in Ayer Tawar but this year , we invited her to come over instead as we are having steamboat . Not a grand but rather a small one ..

1st Day
1st day of CNY is of course morning prayers as usual . Then we went to my uncle’s ( dad’s elder bro’s ) house to “pai nian” and went to my grandma’s house after wards . Had our lunch there and went to my grandaunt’s house ( mum’s aunt , paternal side ) which is also in Ayer Tawar on the way back . She was the one who took care of my mum during her childhood days so my mum has a very special bond with her ..

3rd Day
Breakfast at Pangkor is always something I look forward to . Had a bowl of ” Qing Tang Mien ” ( Mee Sup ) . But then I had a sudden craving for the ” Chee Cheong Fun ” so I went all the way to Sg Pinang Kechil just to get 1 packet of it . Haha..Then met up with Pei Fan after lunch and headed back to Sitiawan..

The Rush At The Jetty . And It Happened Right After My Family And I Got On It . Haha..
Reached Sitiawan around 5 or so and the whole family rested for the rest of the day , except for me . Haha.. Went out for the movies that night with Kit Kei , Xin Yi , Ee Lynn and her bro..Well , the initial plan was to watch “Percy Jackson and The Lighting Thief” at 9.30 ..But due to some unexpected turn out of events , we ended up watching the 11.45 screening instead . Haha..This time it is seriously NOT me whose late . Some little lady ( Xin Yi ) took way too long to prepare . Haha..I still can’t forget the incident at her house when I went to fetch her . Only a few of us close friend knew what happened . Haha ..
4th Day
17th of February which is also MY 2oth BIRTHDAY !!!!! =p Haha .. So this is gonna be the Big 20 part . Hehe.. My dad bought me a Casio Edifice watch as a present .Thanks Dad !! =p

Well , didn’t go anywhere for the day except to Econsave and The Store to buy some stuffs for the steamboat at Ang’s house at night as I have to help my dad put up the bamboo curtain on the empty space between the walls separating our house and the neighbour’s . After dinner time ( NOT dinner ) , went to fetch Kit Kei and headed to Ang’s place ( except that we made a pit-stop at Wonderful Gift gift shop as she wanted to get a gift for her boyfriend . Haha.. XD Reached Ang’s place around 8 or so . Then helped them get prepared and it’s ” makan ” time . Hehe..

A lot of our friends are present on that night . We did a lot of catching up and it was fun . =p Then , while I was chatting with Mei King and Uncle Eng Seong ( Ang’s dad ) , they suddenly brought out 2 cakes and sang the birthday song . Well , it was my birthday that day and Kah Wai ’s the next . they did wish me but I never thought that they would actually buy a cake to celebrate it . I am really touched guys , since I seldom celebrate my birthday .. . Thanks .. But there is a catch to it . me and Kah Wai need to take the candle out of the cake by biting it . Haha .. 5th Day
As usual , nothing much during the day but my dad organized a mini barbecue gathering at my house that night . Most of my friends from yesterday came and we had a good time as well . The only thing that slacks is that I didn’t take any photos and I took out the expensive liquors too soon . No one even touch the beers as they were busy drinking the Chivas Regal and Dry Gin . Haha..
Nothing much for the following days except outings with friends and things like that . Dad left for Abu Dhabi on the 7th day . We sent him off at the Shuttle Bus stop near Pizza Hut . Hope that everything goes well for him over there .. =p As for me , I went back to KL on the 8th day of CNY . Sunday morning 8.30 am bus . Gonna miss home , my family and my friends . Haiz.. Anyways , I know CNY is already over but hopefully it’s not too late to wish everyone HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !!!!! =P

UPNM ENGLISH WEEK PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION..

I took part in this public speaking competition themed ” Duty , Honour , Integrity ” ( Our University’s motto ) . It was organized by the Center for Liberal and Language Studies of my university , UPNM . The competition is one of the programs from the list which includes French poem recital , Japanese sketch , and Chinese calligraphy exhibition . Well , I am proud to say that I emerged champion from all the 20 odd students who took part . When I was told by my lecturer that I won the competition , I was head over heels . But then there ‘ s a catch . I kinda like to put it this way . With the good news , there ‘ s always the bad news . The good news is : I won the public speaking competition . The bad news ? I have to perform another round of my ‘ show ‘ in front of the Vice Chancellor during the closing ceremony on the 3rd of February . I was like ….. Speechless . I just won a small competition . A speech in front of the VC ? But then , I thought , it’s ok . At least I can show off a bit .. XD So come the faithful day , I was there early . So I sat and revised my script ( Which I totally did not work on before this . Haha.. ) while waiting for the guests to arrive ..

To my horror , all the head of departments , Deans , military officers and most senior lecturers are present . Even both the Deputy Vice Chancellors are present for the event . I was like ‘ Die la .. ‘ . After the all the time-wasting formalities , the performances started . First up was the Chinese calligraphy exhibition , English sketch , French poem recital , Arabic sketch , and finally me . I was feeling kinda nervous as I have to give a speech in front of so many important people . It’s unlike when I was the MC during assemblies in secondary school where I actually have a book in my hand to tel me what to say next . This time I am going on top of the stage EMPTY HANDED . Butterflies are flying wildly inside my stomach . But , I am already there . And realising I am the only solo performer there , I got up , pulled myself together , and said to myself ” I gotta make an impression today ” .
I walked up the stairs , adjusted the microphone , and .. ” Here it goes ” ..
” Vice Chancellor , National Defense University of Malaysia , Lt General ………. ”
My words are barely audible in the beginning and I swallowed my saliva hard down my throat plenty of times . But as my speech entered the starting part of the introduction , I am going quite smooth already . Guess I’ve just gained a tiny bit of confidence there . So I went on and on about my chosen topic “Integrity Among Malaysians” . And I guess I could say I ended with a ‘Bang!’ as when I raised my voice on my last sentence ” … Duty , Honour and Integrity ” , everyone in the hall clapped .. =p
After the Closing Ceremony was over , a few of us stood outside the doorway to send of the VIPs .. The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni , Prof Wan Mahsom came over to me , shook my hands and said ” You spoke well boy .” .. That short sentence really made my day . We chatted for a while till she had to leave . As I watched the VIPs went , I thought ” I’ve made a good impression of myself haven’t I ” =p

Just watched ” Bodyguards And Assassins ” yesterday ( although I watch the downloaded 1.. XD ) . Awesome movie !! Highly recommended . It is a courageous and touching story on how China ’s revolution began . A story where many lost their lives to protect Sun Yat-sen , the founding father of The Peoples’ Republic of China , on his visit to Hong Kong to discuss with fellow Tong Meng Hui members plans of revolution against the thousand – years – old monarchy system in China . In this story , it is mainly the corrupt Qing Dynasty . The story revolves around people from all walks of life . They sacrificed their lives in order for their fellow countrymen and the future generation of China to live in a democratic country . The one that I found most courageous and touching is Li Chongguang – the 17-year-old only son of businessman Li Yutang . He is a fervent supporter of the revolution and goes against his father’s will to do so . He was murdered by the assassin , Yan Xiaoguo , while acting as a decoy to divert the assassins away from Sun Yat-sen . His death could be avoided as Sun Yat-sen has already left Hong Kong at the moment he was murdered . He has a bright future buy sadly his life is sacrificed for a better tomorrow for China ..
Nevertheless this is a very interesting and touching story . A must watch for those who love action and meaningful movies ..

FREAKING SHORT CNY HOLIDAY..

Just got to know yesterday that my Chinese New Year Break will only be from 12th February till 16th February . Freaking short holiday for a major celebration like this man . When the officer announced it to us yesterday night I was like ” WTF!!!!! ” . Before it was announced I heard rumors that it will be from the 12th til the 20th . So I thought , ok la . Not too bad . But I’ll still try to push it till 21st ( Sunday ) . But now it’s really like ………. ( Speechless ) .
Damn it . I am so so so frustrated right now . I am gonna go all out to apply for a longer holiday than this . I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday doing stupid training ( again ) for nothing and miss out on all the extra Chinese New Year days . Extra Ang Pau’s , extra time with family and friends , extra days of freedom !! Goddamn it . I already have so many plans installed and so much to do this time around . Just fml ..
p/s – Please pray that I succeed in applying for the extra days of holiday ..

LKU SEASON 3

LKU ( Latihan Ketenteraan Umum or better known as Latihan Kepenatan Unggul by us ) was over around 3 weeks ago . This was the 3rd time I went through LKU throughout my studies here in UPNM . That’s why it is called season 3 . This time around , the training is kinda more relaxed than previous LKUs . 1st of all , the training period itself is shorter than the previous LKU Season 2 which is 4 weeks compared to 10 weeks . Well , for those who are still in the blue , LKU is the term for the military training that we go through every time we have end of semester break . Be it 1st or 2nd semester . We seldom have it during mid-sems as mid-sem breaks are normally too short to proceed with our training ( 1 week only ) . Even if there IS training , it’s only for 2 or 3 days only and can’t qualify as LKU . Hehe .. During each end-of-sem holiday , we will be given 1 week off ( only ) and training will start after that . The routine for this season are as follows : -
Monday – Thursday :
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT ( Physical Training ) which includes running , push-ups , sit-ups , jumping jacks ……. Training is accompanied with special equipments ie 7 kg backpacks , logs , “tong peluru” etc .. The equipments are alternated as we have to go through different training routines..
0830H – Military Knowledge class . Basically it includes military law , military administration , map reading , camouflage etc .. But we didn’t really learn much as we have already learned most of it during the last season..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Class continues ( again?haha..we change subjects ok? =p )
1600H – Class ends and rest..
1645H – Sports..
1900H – Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Friday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..

After this whole ordeal , I realized that our bond and brotherhood has grown stronger even though there still are some misunderstandings and feelings of dissatisfaction among us . Although I am a lone wolf ; a person that does things and act on his own , I figured out that sometimes wolves move in packs as well . In the end of the day , whether I am a loner or a group person , I guess i am just another face in the crowd .. =p

1st things 1st , I was only there as a part of d audience . Haha.. This little trip was organized by my uni . I have no idea why my name came out on the list but I was glad to have a chance to escape from UPNM for a while . So I just took it . Haha .. The event was held on 5th of March 2010 ; which is a Friday at Putrajaya International Convention Centre . At 1st I thought that this is just another normal and boring public speaking . But I was totally wrong . A total of 53 contestants from 51 countries took part in this event . Out of those , we got to see 8 finalist perform : 3 from the Nusantara Category ( Contestants which come from countries within d Malay Archipelago ) and 5 from the International Category ..

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2010 / THE BIG 20

Gonna make this a 2-in-1 post as my 20th birthday coincides with the 4th day of Chinese New Year 2010 as well as our Steamboat gathering at Ang’s house . This Chinese New Year , I got a whole week off !! Woots !!! And I really enjoyed this holiday . The day before the 1st day of CNY my family and I had our usual prayers in the morning and ” Reunion Lunch ” . Then in the evening , we would normally go to our grandma’s house in Ayer Tawar but this year , we invited her to come over instead as we are having steamboat . Not a grand but rather a small one ..

1st Day
1st day of CNY is of course morning prayers as usual . Then we went to my uncle’s ( dad’s elder bro’s ) house to “pai nian” and went to my grandma’s house after wards . Had our lunch there and went to my grandaunt’s house ( mum’s aunt , paternal side ) which is also in Ayer Tawar on the way back . She was the one who took care of my mum during her childhood days so my mum has a very special bond with her ..

2nd Day
Woke up early in the morning to prepare for our journey to Pangkor . The reason being we don’t want to get caught in the jam to embark on the ferry there . Reached Lumut Jetty around 8 am . While waiting for my dad to get a parking lot I snapped some photos to kill some time ..

3rd Day
Breakfast at Pangkor is always something I look forward to . Had a bowl of ” Qing Tang Mien ” ( Mee Sup ) . But then I had a sudden craving for the ” Chee Cheong Fun ” so I went all the way to Sg Pinang Kechil just to get 1 packet of it . Haha..Then met up with Pei Fan after lunch and headed back to Sitiawan..

The Rush At The Jetty . And It Happened Right After My Family And I Got On It . Haha..
Reached Sitiawan around 5 or so and the whole family rested for the rest of the day , except for me . Haha.. Went out for the movies that night with Kit Kei , Xin Yi , Ee Lynn and her bro..Well , the initial plan was to watch “Percy Jackson and The Lighting Thief” at 9.30 ..But due to some unexpected turn out of events , we ended up watching the 11.45 screening instead . Haha..This time it is seriously NOT me whose late . Some little lady ( Xin Yi ) took way too long to prepare . Haha..I still can’t forget the incident at her house when I went to fetch her . Only a few of us close friend knew what happened . Haha ..
4th Day
17th of February which is also MY 2oth BIRTHDAY !!!!! =p Haha .. So this is gonna be the Big 20 part . Hehe.. My dad bought me a Casio Edifice watch as a present .Thanks Dad !! =p

Well , didn’t go anywhere for the day except to Econsave and The Store to buy some stuffs for the steamboat at Ang’s house at night as I have to help my dad put up the bamboo curtain on the empty space between the walls separating our house and the neighbour’s . After dinner time ( NOT dinner ) , went to fetch Kit Kei and headed to Ang’s place ( except that we made a pit-stop at Wonderful Gift gift shop as she wanted to get a gift for her boyfriend . Haha.. XD Reached Ang’s place around 8 or so . Then helped them get prepared and it’s ” makan ” time . Hehe..

A lot of our friends are present on that night . We did a lot of catching up and it was fun . =p Then , while I was chatting with Mei King and Uncle Eng Seong ( Ang’s dad ) , they suddenly brought out 2 cakes and sang the birthday song . Well , it was my birthday that day and Kah Wai ’s the next . they did wish me but I never thought that they would actually buy a cake to celebrate it . I am really touched guys , since I seldom celebrate my birthday .. . Thanks .. But there is a catch to it . me and Kah Wai need to take the candle out of the cake by biting it . Haha .. 5th Day
As usual , nothing much during the day but my dad organized a mini barbecue gathering at my house that night . Most of my friends from yesterday came and we had a good time as well . The only thing that slacks is that I didn’t take any photos and I took out the expensive liquors too soon . No one even touch the beers as they were busy drinking the Chivas Regal and Dry Gin . Haha..
Nothing much for the following days except outings with friends and things like that . Dad left for Abu Dhabi on the 7th day . We sent him off at the Shuttle Bus stop near Pizza Hut . Hope that everything goes well for him over there .. =p As for me , I went back to KL on the 8th day of CNY . Sunday morning 8.30 am bus . Gonna miss home , my family and my friends . Haiz.. Anyways , I know CNY is already over but hopefully it’s not too late to wish everyone HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !!!!! =P

UPNM ENGLISH WEEK PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION..

I took part in this public speaking competition themed ” Duty , Honour , Integrity ” ( Our University’s motto ) . It was organized by the Center for Liberal and Language Studies of my university , UPNM . The competition is one of the programs from the list which includes French poem recital , Japanese sketch , and Chinese calligraphy exhibition . Well , I am proud to say that I emerged champion from all the 20 odd students who took part . When I was told by my lecturer that I won the competition , I was head over heels . But then there ‘ s a catch . I kinda like to put it this way . With the good news , there ‘ s always the bad news . The good news is : I won the public speaking competition . The bad news ? I have to perform another round of my ‘ show ‘ in front of the Vice Chancellor during the closing ceremony on the 3rd of February . I was like ….. Speechless . I just won a small competition . A speech in front of the VC ? But then , I thought , it’s ok . At least I can show off a bit .. XD So come the faithful day , I was there early . So I sat and revised my script ( Which I totally did not work on before this . Haha.. ) while waiting for the guests to arrive ..

To my horror , all the head of departments , Deans , military officers and most senior lecturers are present . Even both the Deputy Vice Chancellors are present for the event . I was like ‘ Die la .. ‘ . After the all the time-wasting formalities , the performances started . First up was the Chinese calligraphy exhibition , English sketch , French poem recital , Arabic sketch , and finally me . I was feeling kinda nervous as I have to give a speech in front of so many important people . It’s unlike when I was the MC during assemblies in secondary school where I actually have a book in my hand to tel me what to say next . This time I am going on top of the stage EMPTY HANDED . Butterflies are flying wildly inside my stomach . But , I am already there . And realising I am the only solo performer there , I got up , pulled myself together , and said to myself ” I gotta make an impression today ” .
I walked up the stairs , adjusted the microphone , and .. ” Here it goes ” ..
” Vice Chancellor , National Defense University of Malaysia , Lt General ………. ”
My words are barely audible in the beginning and I swallowed my saliva hard down my throat plenty of times . But as my speech entered the starting part of the introduction , I am going quite smooth already . Guess I’ve just gained a tiny bit of confidence there . So I went on and on about my chosen topic “Integrity Among Malaysians” . And I guess I could say I ended with a ‘Bang!’ as when I raised my voice on my last sentence ” … Duty , Honour and Integrity ” , everyone in the hall clapped .. =p
After the Closing Ceremony was over , a few of us stood outside the doorway to send of the VIPs .. The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni , Prof Wan Mahsom came over to me , shook my hands and said ” You spoke well boy .” .. That short sentence really made my day . We chatted for a while till she had to leave . As I watched the VIPs went , I thought ” I’ve made a good impression of myself haven’t I ” =p

BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS

Just watched ” Bodyguards And Assassins ” yesterday ( although I watch the downloaded 1.. XD ) . Awesome movie !! Highly recommended . It is a courageous and touching story on how China ’s revolution began . A story where many lost their lives to protect Sun Yat-sen , the founding father of The Peoples’ Republic of China , on his visit to Hong Kong to discuss with fellow Tong Meng Hui members plans of revolution against the thousand – years – old monarchy system in China . In this story , it is mainly the corrupt Qing Dynasty . The story revolves around people from all walks of life . They sacrificed their lives in order for their fellow countrymen and the future generation of China to live in a democratic country . The one that I found most courageous and touching is Li Chongguang – the 17-year-old only son of businessman Li Yutang . He is a fervent supporter of the revolution and goes against his father’s will to do so . He was murdered by the assassin , Yan Xiaoguo , while acting as a decoy to divert the assassins away from Sun Yat-sen . His death could be avoided as Sun Yat-sen has already left Hong Kong at the moment he was murdered . He has a bright future buy sadly his life is sacrificed for a better tomorrow for China ..
Nevertheless this is a very interesting and touching story . A must watch for those who love action and meaningful movies ..

FREAKING SHORT CNY HOLIDAY..

Just got to know yesterday that my Chinese New Year Break will only be from 12th February till 16th February . Freaking short holiday for a major celebration like this man . When the officer announced it to us yesterday night I was like ” WTF!!!!! ” . Before it was announced I heard rumors that it will be from the 12th til the 20th . So I thought , ok la . Not too bad . But I’ll still try to push it till 21st ( Sunday ) . But now it’s really like ………. ( Speechless ) .
Damn it . I am so so so frustrated right now . I am gonna go all out to apply for a longer holiday than this . I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday doing stupid training ( again ) for nothing and miss out on all the extra Chinese New Year days . Extra Ang Pau’s , extra time with family and friends , extra days of freedom !! Goddamn it . I already have so many plans installed and so much to do this time around . Just fml ..
p/s – Please pray that I succeed in applying for the extra days of holiday ..

LKU ( Latihan Ketenteraan Umum or better known as Latihan Kepenatan Unggul by us ) was over around 3 weeks ago . This was the 3rd time I went through LKU throughout my studies here in UPNM . That’s why it is called season 3 . This time around , the training is kinda more relaxed than previous LKUs . 1st of all , the training period itself is shorter than the previous LKU Season 2 which is 4 weeks compared to 10 weeks . Well , for those who are still in the blue , LKU is the term for the military training that we go through every time we have end of semester break . Be it 1st or 2nd semester . We seldom have it during mid-sems as mid-sem breaks are normally too short to proceed with our training ( 1 week only ) . Even if there IS training , it’s only for 2 or 3 days only and can’t qualify as LKU . Hehe .. During each end-of-sem holiday , we will be given 1 week off ( only ) and training will start after that . The routine for this season are as follows : -
Monday – Thursday :
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT ( Physical Training ) which includes running , push-ups , sit-ups , jumping jacks ……. Training is accompanied with special equipments ie 7 kg backpacks , logs , “tong peluru” etc .. The equipments are alternated as we have to go through different training routines..
0830H – Military Knowledge class . Basically it includes military law , military administration , map reading , camouflage etc .. But we didn’t really learn much as we have already learned most of it during the last season..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Class continues ( again?haha..we change subjects ok? =p )
1600H – Class ends and rest..
1645H – Sports..
1900H – Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Friday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..
0830H – Military Knowledge class ..
1015H – Tea Break..

After this whole ordeal , I realized that our bond and brotherhood has grown stronger even though there still are some misunderstandings and feelings of dissatisfaction among us . Although I am a lone wolf ; a person that does things and act on his own , I figured out that sometimes wolves move in packs as well . In the end of the day , whether I am a loner or a group person , I guess i am just another face in the crowd .. =p

Gonna make this a 2-in-1 post as my 20th birthday coincides with the 4th day of Chinese New Year 2010 as well as our Steamboat gathering at Ang’s house . This Chinese New Year , I got a whole week off !! Woots !!! And I really enjoyed this holiday . The day before the 1st day of CNY my family and I had our usual prayers in the morning and ” Reunion Lunch ” . Then in the evening , we would normally go to our grandma’s house in Ayer Tawar but this year , we invited her to come over instead as we are having steamboat . Not a grand but rather a small one ..

1st Day
1st day of CNY is of course morning prayers as usual . Then we went to my uncle’s ( dad’s elder bro’s ) house to “pai nian” and went to my grandma’s house after wards . Had our lunch there and went to my grandaunt’s house ( mum’s aunt , paternal side ) which is also in Ayer Tawar on the way back . She was the one who took care of my mum during her childhood days so my mum has a very special bond with her ..

2nd Day
Woke up early in the morning to prepare for our journey to Pangkor . The reason being we don’t want to get caught in the jam to embark on the ferry there . Reached Lumut Jetty around 8 am . While waiting for my dad to get a parking lot I snapped some photos to kill some time ..

3rd Day
Breakfast at Pangkor is always something I look forward to . Had a bowl of ” Qing Tang Mien ” ( Mee Sup ) . But then I had a sudden craving for the ” Chee Cheong Fun ” so I went all the way to Sg Pinang Kechil just to get 1 packet of it . Haha..Then met up with Pei Fan after lunch and headed back to Sitiawan..

The Rush At The Jetty . And It Happened Right After My Family And I Got On It . Haha..
Reached Sitiawan around 5 or so and the whole family rested for the rest of the day , except for me . Haha.. Went out for the movies that night with Kit Kei , Xin Yi , Ee Lynn and her bro..Well , the initial plan was to watch “Percy Jackson and The Lighting Thief” at 9.30 ..But due to some unexpected turn out of events , we ended up watching the 11.45 screening instead . Haha..This time it is seriously NOT me whose late . Some little lady ( Xin Yi ) took way too long to prepare . Haha..I still can’t forget the incident at her house when I went to fetch her . Only a few of us close friend knew what happened . Haha ..
4th Day
17th of February which is also MY 2oth BIRTHDAY !!!!! =p Haha .. So this is gonna be the Big 20 part . Hehe.. My dad bought me a Casio Edifice watch as a present .Thanks Dad !! =p

Well , didn’t go anywhere for the day except to Econsave and The Store to buy some stuffs for the steamboat at Ang’s house at night as I have to help my dad put up the bamboo curtain on the empty space between the walls separating our house and the neighbour’s . After dinner time ( NOT dinner ) , went to fetch Kit Kei and headed to Ang’s place ( except that we made a pit-stop at Wonderful Gift gift shop as she wanted to get a gift for her boyfriend . Haha.. XD Reached Ang’s place around 8 or so . Then helped them get prepared and it’s ” makan ” time . Hehe..

A lot of our friends are present on that night . We did a lot of catching up and it was fun . =p Then , while I was chatting with Mei King and Uncle Eng Seong ( Ang’s dad ) , they suddenly brought out 2 cakes and sang the birthday song . Well , it was my birthday that day and Kah Wai ’s the next . they did wish me but I never thought that they would actually buy a cake to celebrate it . I am really touched guys , since I seldom celebrate my birthday .. . Thanks .. But there is a catch to it . me and Kah Wai need to take the candle out of the cake by biting it . Haha .. 5th Day
As usual , nothing much during the day but my dad organized a mini barbecue gathering at my house that night . Most of my friends from yesterday came and we had a good time as well . The only thing that slacks is that I didn’t take any photos and I took out the expensive liquors too soon . No one even touch the beers as they were busy drinking the Chivas Regal and Dry Gin . Haha..
Nothing much for the following days except outings with friends and things like that . Dad left for Abu Dhabi on the 7th day . We sent him off at the Shuttle Bus stop near Pizza Hut . Hope that everything goes well for him over there .. =p As for me , I went back to KL on the 8th day of CNY . Sunday morning 8.30 am bus . Gonna miss home , my family and my friends . Haiz.. Anyways , I know CNY is already over but hopefully it’s not too late to wish everyone HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !!!!! =P

UPNM ENGLISH WEEK PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION..

I took part in this public speaking competition themed ” Duty , Honour , Integrity ” ( Our University’s motto ) . It was organized by the Center for Liberal and Language Studies of my university , UPNM . The competition is one of the programs from the list which includes French poem recital , Japanese sketch , and Chinese calligraphy exhibition . Well , I am proud to say that I emerged champion from all the 20 odd students who took part . When I was told by my lecturer that I won the competition , I was head over heels . But then there ‘ s a catch . I kinda like to put it this way . With the good news , there ‘ s always the bad news . The good news is : I won the public speaking competition . The bad news ? I have to perform another round of my ‘ show ‘ in front of the Vice Chancellor during the closing ceremony on the 3rd of February . I was like ….. Speechless . I just won a small competition . A speech in front of the VC ? But then , I thought , it’s ok . At least I can show off a bit .. XD So come the faithful day , I was there early . So I sat and revised my script ( Which I totally did not work on before this . Haha.. ) while waiting for the guests to arrive ..
My Appearance That Night . Nice Specs Eh ? It’s For Staring At The Computer Screen Only And It’s ‘Powerless’ . Decided To Make Myself Look More ‘ Knowledgeable ‘ . Haha.. XD
To my horror , all the head of departments , Deans , military officers and most senior lecturers are present . Even both the Deputy Vice Chancellors are present for the event . I was like ‘ Die la .. ‘ . After the all the time-wasting formalities , the performances started . First up was the Chinese calligraphy exhibition , English sketch , French poem recital , Arabic sketch , and finally me . I was feeling kinda nervous as I have to give a speech in front of so many important people . It’s unlike when I was the MC during assemblies in secondary school where I actually have a book in my hand to tel me what to say next . This time I am going on top of the stage EMPTY HANDED . Butterflies are flying wildly inside my stomach . But , I am already there . And realising I am the only solo performer there , I got up , pulled myself together , and said to myself ” I gotta make an impression today ” .
I walked up the stairs , adjusted the microphone , and .. ” Here it goes ” ..
” Vice Chancellor , National Defense University of Malaysia , Lt General ………. ”
My words are barely audible in the beginning and I swallowed my saliva hard down my throat plenty of times . But as my speech entered the starting part of the introduction , I am going quite smooth already . Guess I’ve just gained a tiny bit of confidence there . So I went on and on about my chosen topic “Integrity Among Malaysians” . And I guess I could say I ended with a ‘Bang!’ as when I raised my voice on my last sentence ” … Duty , Honour and Integrity ” , everyone in the hall clapped .. =p
After the Closing Ceremony was over , a few of us stood outside the doorway to send of the VIPs .. The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni , Prof Wan Mahsom came over to me , shook my hands and said ” You spoke well boy .” .. That short sentence really made my day . We chatted for a while till she had to leave . As I watched the VIPs went , I thought ” I’ve made a good impression of myself haven’t I ” =p

Chinese New Year holiday is going to be from 12th till 21st February .. Woots!!!!! Haha .. Yeah .. Gonna celebrate my birthday back home .. XD Woohoo .. All the effort and meetings are not wasted ( unlike last year .. XD ) .. Just watched ” Bodyguards And Assassins ” yesterday ( although I watch the downloaded 1.. XD ) . Awesome movie !! Highly recommended . It is a courageous and touching story on how China ’s revolution began . A story where many lost their lives to protect Sun Yat-sen , the founding father of The Peoples’ Republic of China , on his visit to Hong Kong to discuss with fellow Tong Meng Hui members plans of revolution against the thousand – years – old monarchy system in China . In this story , it is mainly the corrupt Qing Dynasty . The story revolves around people from all walks of life . They sacrificed their lives in order for their fellow countrymen and the future generation of China to live in a democratic country . The one that I found most courageous and touching is Li Chongguang – the 17-year-old only son of businessman Li Yutang . He is a fervent supporter of the revolution and goes against his father’s will to do so . He was murdered by the assassin , Yan Xiaoguo , while acting as a decoy to divert the assassins away from Sun Yat-sen . His death could be avoided as Sun Yat-sen has already left Hong Kong at the moment he was murdered . He has a bright future buy sadly his life is sacrificed for a better tomorrow for China ..
Nevertheless this is a very interesting and touching story . A must watch for those who love action and meaningful movies ..

FREAKING SHORT CNY HOLIDAY..

Just got to know yesterday that my Chinese New Year Break will only be from 12th February till 16th February . Freaking short holiday for a major celebration like this man . When the officer announced it to us yesterday night I was like ” WTF!!!!! ” . Before it was announced I heard rumors that it will be from the 12th til the 20th . So I thought , ok la . Not too bad . But I’ll still try to push it till 21st ( Sunday ) . But now it’s really like ………. ( Speechless ) .
Damn it . I am so so so frustrated right now . I am gonna go all out to apply for a longer holiday than this . I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday doing stupid training ( again ) for nothing and miss out on all the extra Chinese New Year days . Extra Ang Pau’s , extra time with family and friends , extra days of freedom !! Goddamn it . I already have so many plans installed and so much to do this time around . Just fml ..
p/s – Please pray that I succeed in applying for the extra days of holiday ..

UPNM ENGLISH WEEK PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION..

I took part in this public speaking competition themed ” Duty , Honour , Integrity ” ( Our University’s motto ) . It was organized by the Center for Liberal and Language Studies of my university , UPNM . The competition is one of the programs from the list which includes French poem recital , Japanese sketch , and Chinese calligraphy exhibition . Well , I am proud to say that I emerged champion from all the 20 odd students who took part . When I was told by my lecturer that I won the competition , I was head over heels . But then there ‘ s a catch . I kinda like to put it this way . With the good news , there ‘ s always the bad news . The good news is : I won the public speaking competition . The bad news ? I have to perform another round of my ‘ show ‘ in front of the Vice Chancellor during the closing ceremony on the 3rd of February . I was like ….. Speechless . I just won a small competition . A speech in front of the VC ? But then , I thought , it’s ok . At least I can show off a bit .. XD So come the faithful day , I was there early . So I sat and revised my script ( Which I totally did not work on before this . Haha.. ) while waiting for the guests to arrive ..
My Appearance That Night . Nice Specs Eh ? It’s For Staring At The Computer Screen Only And It’s ‘Powerless’ . Decided To Make Myself Look More ‘ Knowledgeable ‘ . Haha.. XD
To my horror , all the head of departments , Deans , military officers and most senior lecturers are present . Even both the Deputy Vice Chancellors are present for the event . I was like ‘ Die la .. ‘ . After the all the time-wasting formalities , the performances started . First up was the Chinese calligraphy exhibition , English sketch , French poem recital , Arabic sketch , and finally me . I was feeling kinda nervous as I have to give a speech in front of so many important people . It’s unlike when I was the MC during assemblies in secondary school where I actually have a book in my hand to tel me what to say next . This time I am going on top of the stage EMPTY HANDED . Butterflies are flying wildly inside my stomach . But , I am already there . And realising I am the only solo performer there , I got up , pulled myself together , and said to myself ” I gotta make an impression today ” .
I walked up the stairs , adjusted the microphone , and .. ” Here it goes ” ..
” Vice Chancellor , National Defense University of Malaysia , Lt General ………. ”
My words are barely audible in the beginning and I swallowed my saliva hard down my throat plenty of times . But as my speech entered the starting part of the introduction , I am going quite smooth already . Guess I’ve just gained a tiny bit of confidence there . So I went on and on about my chosen topic “Integrity Among Malaysians” . And I guess I could say I ended with a ‘Bang!’ as when I raised my voice on my last sentence ” … Duty , Honour and Integrity ” , everyone in the hall clapped .. =p
After the Closing Ceremony was over , a few of us stood outside the doorway to send of the VIPs .. The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni , Prof Wan Mahsom came over to me , shook my hands and said ” You spoke well boy .” .. That short sentence really made my day . We chatted for a while till she had to leave . As I watched the VIPs went , I thought ” I’ve made a good impression of myself haven’t I ” =p

CHINESE NEW YEAR HOLIDAY EXTENDED..

Woots !!!!! Latest breaking news . After countless trips in and out of the office and restless days of waiting , finally the results are out . And it is in our favour !! Chinese New Year holiday is going to be from 12th till 21st February .. Woots!!!!! Haha .. Yeah .. Gonna celebrate my birthday back home .. XD Woohoo .. All the effort and meetings are not wasted ( unlike last year .. XD ) .. A BIG BIG thanks to Major Chan Weng Poh RRR for helping us out in applying and bugging the other officers to give us the holiday .. XD YES !!!!! Xin Nian Lai Lo !!!!! =p

BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS

Just watched ” Bodyguards And Assassins ” yesterday ( although I watch the downloaded 1.. XD ) . Awesome movie !! Highly recommended . It is a courageous and touching story on how China ’s revolution began . A story where many lost their lives to protect Sun Yat-sen , the founding father of The Peoples’ Republic of China , on his visit to Hong Kong to discuss with fellow Tong Meng Hui members plans of revolution against the thousand – years – old monarchy system in China . In this story , it is mainly the corrupt Qing Dynasty . The story revolves around people from all walks of life . They sacrificed their lives in order for their fellow countrymen and the future generation of China to live in a democratic country . The one that I found most courageous and touching is Li Chongguang – the 17-year-old only son of businessman Li Yutang . He is a fervent supporter of the revolution and goes against his father’s will to do so . He was murdered by the assassin , Yan Xiaoguo , while acting as a decoy to divert the assassins away from Sun Yat-sen . His death could be avoided as Sun Yat-sen has already left Hong Kong at the moment he was murdered . He has a bright future buy sadly his life is sacrificed for a better tomorrow for China ..
Nevertheless this is a very interesting and touching story . A must watch for those who love action and meaningful movies ..

FREAKING SHORT CNY HOLIDAY..

Just got to know yesterday that my Chinese New Year Break will only be from 12th February till 16th February . Freaking short holiday for a major celebration like this man . When the officer announced it to us yesterday night I was like ” WTF!!!!! ” . Before it was announced I heard rumors that it will be from the 12th til the 20th . So I thought , ok la . Not too bad . But I’ll still try to push it till 21st ( Sunday ) . But now it’s really like ………. ( Speechless ) .
Damn it . I am so so so frustrated right now . I am gonna go all out to apply for a longer holiday than this . I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday doing stupid training ( again ) for nothing and miss out on all the extra Chinese New Year days . Extra Ang Pau’s , extra time with family and friends , extra days of freedom !! Goddamn it . I already have so many plans installed and so much to do this time around . Just fml ..
p/s – Please pray that I succeed in applying for the extra days of holiday ..

LKU SEASON 3

LKU ( Latihan Ketenteraan Umum or better known as Latihan Kepenatan Unggul by us ) was over around 3 weeks ago . This was the 3rd time I went through LKU throughout my studies here in UPNM . That’s why it is called season 3 . This time around , the training is kinda more relaxed than previous LKUs . 1st of all , the training period itself is shorter than the previous LKU Season 2 which is 4 weeks compared to 10 weeks . Well , for those who are still in the blue , LKU is the term for the military training that we go through every time we have end of semester break . Be it 1st or 2nd semester . We seldom have it during mid-sems as mid-sem breaks are normally too short to proceed with our training ( 1 week only ) . Even if there IS training , it’s only for 2 or 3 days only and can’t qualify as LKU . Hehe .. During each end-of-sem holiday , we will be given 1 week off ( only ) and training will start after that . The routine for this season are as follows : -
Monday – Thursday :
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT ( Physical Training ) which includes running , push-ups , sit-ups , jumping jacks ……. Training is accompanied with special equipments ie 7 kg backpacks , logs , “tong peluru” etc .. The equipments are alternated as we have to go through different training routines..
0830H – Military Knowledge class . Basically it includes military law , military administration , map reading , camouflage etc .. But we didn’t really learn much as we have already learned most of it during the last season..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Class continues ( again?haha..we change subjects ok? =p )
1600H – Class ends and rest..
1645H – Sports..
1900H – Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Friday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..
0830H – Military Knowledge class ..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Fall in at the football field again for TTS ( Tempur Tanpa Senjata ) . To make it easy , Self Defense..
1800H – Training ends..

After this whole ordeal , I realized that our bond and brotherhood has grown stronger even though there still are some misunderstandings and feelings of dissatisfaction among us . Although I am a lone wolf ; a person that does things and act on his own , I figured out that sometimes wolves move in packs as well . In the end of the day , whether I am a loner or a group person , I guess i am just another face in the crowd .. =p

BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS

Just watched ” Bodyguards And Assassins ” yesterday ( although I watch the downloaded 1.. XD ) . Awesome movie !! Highly recommended . It is a courageous and touching story on how China ’s revolution began . A story where many lost their lives to protect Sun Yat-sen , the founding father of The Peoples’ Republic of China , on his visit to Hong Kong to discuss with fellow Tong Meng Hui members plans of revolution against the thousand – years – old monarchy system in China . In this story , it is mainly the corrupt Qing Dynasty . The story revolves around people from all walks of life . They sacrificed their lives in order for their fellow countrymen and the future generation of China to live in a democratic country . The one that I found most courageous and touching is Li Chongguang – the 17-year-old only son of businessman Li Yutang . He is a fervent supporter of the revolution and goes against his father’s will to do so . He was murdered by the assassin , Yan Xiaoguo , while acting as a decoy to divert the assassins away from Sun Yat-sen . His death could be avoided as Sun Yat-sen has already left Hong Kong at the moment he was murdered . He has a bright future buy sadly his life is sacrificed for a better tomorrow for China ..
Nevertheless this is a very interesting and touching story . A must watch for those who love action and meaningful movies ..

FREAKING SHORT CNY HOLIDAY..

Just got to know yesterday that my Chinese New Year Break will only be from 12th February till 16th February . Freaking short holiday for a major celebration like this man . When the officer announced it to us yesterday night I was like ” WTF!!!!! ” . Before it was announced I heard rumors that it will be from the 12th til the 20th . So I thought , ok la . Not too bad . But I’ll still try to push it till 21st ( Sunday ) . But now it’s really like ………. ( Speechless ) .
Damn it . I am so so so frustrated right now . I am gonna go all out to apply for a longer holiday than this . I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday doing stupid training ( again ) for nothing and miss out on all the extra Chinese New Year days . Extra Ang Pau’s , extra time with family and friends , extra days of freedom !! Goddamn it . I already have so many plans installed and so much to do this time around . Just fml ..
p/s – Please pray that I succeed in applying for the extra days of holiday ..

LKU SEASON 3

LKU ( Latihan Ketenteraan Umum or better known as Latihan Kepenatan Unggul by us ) was over around 3 weeks ago . This was the 3rd time I went through LKU throughout my studies here in UPNM . That’s why it is called season 3 . This time around , the training is kinda more relaxed than previous LKUs . 1st of all , the training period itself is shorter than the previous LKU Season 2 which is 4 weeks compared to 10 weeks . Well , for those who are still in the blue , LKU is the term for the military training that we go through every time we have end of semester break . Be it 1st or 2nd semester . We seldom have it during mid-sems as mid-sem breaks are normally too short to proceed with our training ( 1 week only ) . Even if there IS training , it’s only for 2 or 3 days only and can’t qualify as LKU . Hehe .. During each end-of-sem holiday , we will be given 1 week off ( only ) and training will start after that . The routine for this season are as follows : -
Monday – Thursday :
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT ( Physical Training ) which includes running , push-ups , sit-ups , jumping jacks ……. Training is accompanied with special equipments ie 7 kg backpacks , logs , “tong peluru” etc .. The equipments are alternated as we have to go through different training routines..
0830H – Military Knowledge class . Basically it includes military law , military administration , map reading , camouflage etc .. But we didn’t really learn much as we have already learned most of it during the last season..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Class continues ( again?haha..we change subjects ok? =p )
1600H – Class ends and rest..
1645H – Sports..
1900H – Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Friday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..

After this whole ordeal , I realized that our bond and brotherhood has grown stronger even though there still are some misunderstandings and feelings of dissatisfaction among us . Although I am a lone wolf ; a person that does things and act on his own , I figured out that sometimes wolves move in packs as well . In the end of the day , whether I am a loner or a group person , I guess i am just another face in the crowd .. =p

That’s why it is called season 3 . This time around , the training is kinda more relaxed than previous LKUs . 1st of all , the training period itself is shorter than the previous LKU Season 2 which is 4 weeks compared to 10 weeks . Well , for those who are still in the blue , LKU is the term for the military training that we go through every time we have end of semester break . Be it 1st or 2nd semester . We seldom have it during mid-sems as mid-sem breaks are normally too short to proceed with our training ( 1 week only ) . Even if there IS training , it’s only for 2 or 3 days only and can’t qualify as LKU . Hehe .. During each end-of-sem holiday , we will be given 1 week off ( only ) and training will start after that . The routine for this season are as follows : -
Monday – Thursday :
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT ( Physical Training ) which includes running , push-ups , sit-ups , jumping jacks ……. Training is accompanied with special equipments ie 7 kg backpacks , logs , “tong peluru” etc .. The equipments are alternated as we have to go through different training routines..
0830H – Military Knowledge class . Basically it includes military law , military administration , map reading , camouflage etc .. But we didn’t really learn much as we have already learned most of it during the last season..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Class continues ( again?haha..we change subjects ok? =p )
1600H – Class ends and rest..
1645H – Sports..
1900H – Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Friday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..
0830H – Military Knowledge class ..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest..
1430H – Fall in at the football field again for TTS ( Tempur Tanpa Senjata ) . To make it easy , Self Defense..
1800H – Training ends..
1930H – Regimental Night Dinner and rest..
2230H – Roll Call..
2359H – Lights off and sleep..
Saturday
0630H – Fall in at the football field for PT as usual..
0830H – Military Knowledge class ..
1015H – Tea Break..
1045H – Class continues..
1230H – Lunch and rest for the rest of the day..
2230H – Roll Call..

Whole day rest ( But the Christians and Buddhists get to go out for prayers and thus outing . Haha .. )

After this whole ordeal , I realized that our bond and brotherhood has grown stronger even though there still are some misunderstandings and feelings of dissatisfaction among us . Although I am a lone wolf ; a person that does things and act on his own , I figured out that sometimes wolves move in packs as well . In the end of the day , whether I am a loner or a group person , I guess i am just another face in the crowd .. =p
